ABINGDON, VIRGINIA (February 26, 2017) – A teenager struck and killed by a train on Sunday near Trigg Street has been identified as Porter Harper, according to a local news source. (map)

17 year old Porter Harper, a high school student at Virginia High School in Bristol, was struck by a Norfolk Southern train on Sunday evening near the Trigg Street railroad crossing.

Porter Harper was tragically pronounced dead at the scene by responding emergency medical personnel. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
