“Deadly Hit-and-Run Crash”
SPRING VALLEY, CALIFORNIA (February 7, 2017) – A pedestrian was fatally injured by a hit-and-run driver on Sweetwater Road near Tyler Street on Tuesday, at approximately 10:00 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol (map)
The deadly accident occurred when a 75-year-old man was crossing an unmarked section of Sweetwater Road and was hit by a car traveling northbound in the right lane. Rescue officials were called to the scene, sadly, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries. The pedestrian, whose has not yet been identified, was just dropped of by his stepdaughter who heard the screeching of tires as she was driving off.
The driver fled the scene, but officers located a silver Mercedes E320 with windshield and passenger side damage, parked in an apartment complex on Troy Street, near Sweetwater Road. Andrew Thouzen was later arrested on suspicion of a hit-and run that killed the 75 year old pedestrian.
